Usage
-
The Cel Fi Go2 Repeater for the Vodafone network is a convenient way to boost and distribute a 3G/4G mobile signal within your vehicle including cars, 4WD & trucks
-
Installing this device in your vehicle can improve the reliability of phone calls, text messages, and increase 3G & 4G services
-
This is a complete repeater system designed to provide coverage within and around the Vehicle.
-
The wideband spring-based whip antenna is ideal for travelling around the country as it offers 6.5dBi gain across the low band 3G and 4G frequencies
-
The bulbar antenna is connected to the repeater via a 4.5m RG58 tail with an adapted fitting to connect directly onto the Cel Fi Go’s input connector. A Small Stick On T-Bar Antenna is then connected to the Cel Fi Go’s output in order to disburse the captured signal
-
The repeater provides enough boost to create a small radius of coverage around the vehicle.
-
It's important to note that this repeater unit is designed to provide 3G or 4G services to mobile devices, it cannot produce both networks concurrently.
Professional installation recommended for vehicles
-
It is possible to self-install the Cel-Fi GO inside your vehicle, however, you must ensure the internal and external antennas are isolated
-
To achieve the appropriate levels of isolation, it's generally recommended that the external antenna is mounted on your vehicle tray, 4WD lightbar/roofracks, rather than bullbar (i.e. isolated by the metal roof)
-
If installing on a bullbar, it's important that the internal antenna is placed in a position that will have the most metal between the external antenna
-
The Cel-Fi GO can cause interference to your vehicle electronic systems, so we strongly recommend professional installation to make sure you get the best from this product.
Why is it legal?
-
Many mobile service providers do not support personal repeaters on their network because of the interference they can cause when connected to the network, or when they are setup incorrectly
-
The Cel-Fi system is the only personal repeater that is widely approved by carriers in Australia
-
The Cel Fi Go is different to a standard repeater, as it's designed for maximum coverage, is network friendly, and is easily installed by the end user. It does this by:
-
continuously monitoring the power levels of the cell tower it's connected to, constantly adjusting its output power to suit the levels
-
only amplifying and disbursing a particular carrier’s mobile signal, operating within a set frequency band
-
giving the service provider the ability to shut down the repeater remotely if needed, using a signal from the base station
-
not interfering with the carrier’s network or other users on the network
-
having a unique installation process to eliminate feedback into the mobile network.
-
A heads up!
- Optus's Cel Fi Go2 will not boost the 4G+ regional network.
